The Adams Water Treatment Plant is a state permitted surface water treatment plant with a twenty-four million gallon a day capacity; using Lake Martin as its water source it serves the Greater Lake Martin Area. The Plant is staffed by state certified Grade IV operators and is maintained twenty - four hours a day year round.
Under EPA's Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR), water systems are required to monitor treated water entering the distribution system for a list of contaminants which are currently unregulated. EPA uses data generated by the UCMR to prioritize contaminants on the Drinking Water Contaminant Candidate List.
