In the 1990s our community worked together to build the Imagination Station. Many citizens and local businesses participated in the construction of the playground. We even included precious hand prints of our children. In March 2021 the city decided to take it down because of structural issues (rotting wood) and safety concerns. The city didn’t have a choice. It was beyond repair.

Now it’s time to rebuild! We would like to bring our community back together and build a better and safer Imagination Station for our children to enjoy! This is a great opportunity for our youth to earn community service hours and to be a part of a local project. The city is dedicated to providing in-kind services towards the rebuild and is also exploring grant opportunities. Additionally, the City will provide long-term maintenance.

In an effort to continue our commitment to transparency and financial stewardship, a separate bank account has been opened to ensure the funds collected are separate from other City funds.  In order to keep citizens abreast of the fundraising progress, monthly reports will be given during the second council meeting of each month beginning in December and updates will be posted to our website at alexandercityal.gov.

To make a donation, submit checks payable to:  City of Alexander City Imagination Station to our mailing address or in person.  Cash, credit, or debit card contributions are also welcome. When giving a gift using one of these three methods, please reference code ImageStation.
