Keep Alexander City Beautiful
Watch as Mayor Baird sits down with Lake Martin Resource Association President, John Thompson, to discuss litter issues within our community.
The City of Alexander City strives to enhance economic development and make our City beautiful by education on litter prevention and prioritizing cleanup in high traffic areas.
The City currently operates a two person litter crew that picks up litter throughout the city limits on a routine basis. However, we still rely heavily on help from our community. A clean community starts with you! Please keep your trash in your vehicle until you get to your destination, and dispose of it in a garbage can.
What can you do to help?
- Set an example for others to follow by NOT LITTERING!
- Carry a trash bag in your vehicle or boat.
- Securely cover garbage carts to prevent wind or animals from spreading litter.
- Cover and secure truck beds and trailers when transporting loads.
- When visiting public areas such as parks and sports fields, leave the area clean for the next person to enjoy.
- Participate and volunteer your time to clean up your community.
