Patrol

The Patrol Division is the "Backbone" of the police department. Presently, we have 32 personnel assigned to this Division. They are organized between 4 shifts and provide continuous professional police services       24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.              Our officers utilize a variety of vehicles all of which are equipped with the latest in Mobile Data Terminal capabilities allowing them to produce all reports in the field without returning to headquarters. This allows the officer the opportunity to remain in their assigned sector and provide a greater officer presence on the street, and quicker response time to calls for service.

Alexander City Patrol Division Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Alexander City Police Department’s Patrol Division to protect the citizens of our city in a professional manner; to be proactive in making the criminal element uncomfortable in our city, while strengthening the bond between our citizens and officers. 

We will fight crime and the fear of crime with both a tactical and technical approach that protects the civil liberties of everyone, using the Constitution of the United States and case law as our guide.

In doing so we will aim to be of the utmost ethical in our standards and strive to be a working part of our neighborhood with the commitment and courage to be an example of integrity.
