Crime Prevention

The Alexander City Police Department is primarily concerned with the safety of its citizens, not only their personal safety but the safety of their property as well. A number of crime prevention programs have been developed to reduce the risk for Alexander City residents becoming victims of crime.

The Alexander City Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit is responsible for the creation and administration of crime prevention programs that are offered to the public. Officers from the unit are available to make public presentations for organizations and community groups throughout the city, on a variety of topics.

To arrange for a Crime Prevention Officer to speak to your group, contact the Crime Prevention Unit at (256) 329-2470 at least two weeks in advance (if possible) of the time you would like the presentation.
