Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission  was established under Ordinance No. 2009-11 in the City of Alexander City to provide the issuance of certificates of appropriateness and to support the historical, cultural and aesthetic heritage of the City of Alexander City. 

The commission consists of seven (7) members that are nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the City Council. Members serve three-year terms and may be reappointed.  

 

Meetings:

  • 4:00 p.m.
  • 1st Wednesday of each month
  • Council Chambers, 281 James D. Nabors Drive, Alexander City, AL 35010
  • All HPC meetings are open to the public.

 

Application Deadlines:

The deadline for applications to be submitted to the HPC is 14 days prior to any scheduled meeting. Applications can be mailed to the Planning and Development Department c/o Historic Preservation Commission, 281 James D. Nabors Drive, Alexander City, AL 35010 or email Caroline Brown.
