The Purchasing Department is responsible for the procurement of all supplies, equipment, and materials used by the City of Alexander City. Purchases are made consistent with quality services, timely deliveries, and economic concerns. The department provides support to the various departments within the city for their day-to-day operations. It is also responsible for the disposition of obsolete, unserviceable or unused supplies, materials, and equipment. Purchasing performs other duties as may be imposed by the Mayor, resolution or ordinance by the City Council.

NOTE:

Vendors may request in writing to be placed on the city's vendor list to receive invitations to bid and requests for quotes. The request must include the types of materials and equipment a vendor wishes to bid on.
