Nutrition Aide (Part-time)

Job:                      Nutrition Aide

Department:     Nutrition Center

Pay Rate:            Grade 8    

Hours:                 Daytime Hours  (Part-time)

Summary:
This position provides assistance in the daily operations of the Nutrition Center.  Position will work to ensure that meals are safely provided for both congregate meal and home delivered meal participants.  Reports to the Nutrition Center Coordinator.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Greet and interacts with seniors that come into the center
• Prepare and clean dining area
• Assist in preparing of the meals
• Assist clients with transportation to and from the Nutrition Center
• Delivers home bound meals to the clients
• Participation in programs and special events
• Counts donation money under dual control
• Assist with kitchen clean-up
• Responsible for keeping nutrition vehicle clean
• Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

• Be a graduate of an accredited high school or hold a certificate of high school equivalency (GED). 
• Possess a valid Alabama driver’s license and have a driving record suitable for insurability. 
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Previous experience working with the public and with senior citizens in particular is preferred.
• Be physical able to perform the essential functions of the position (driving, walking, sitting, stooping, and bending).
