Golf Course Maintenance Worker - Part-time

Job:                          Maintenance Worker - PT

Department:         Golf Course

Hours:                     Day Hours  (Overtime & Weekends Required)

Rate:                         Grade 10

Summary:

Semi-skilled position entails general labor in maintenance and upkeep of the golf course, irrigation system, golf course facilities, buildings and grounds as needed.  Works under the general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent.

Primary Duties:

• Maintain golf course, buildings, irrigation system, grounds and parking lot
• Perform routine labor as required
• Operate grounds and facilities maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, backhoe, tractors, trenchers, dump trucks and other related equipment
• Perform golf course set-up (choose and cut golf holes, set tee markers correctly)
• Assist in pro shop as necessary.
• Perform other job-related duties as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of maintenance and operation of golf course and pro shop.
• Knowledge of turf management.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules. 
• Knowledge in maintaining plants, sod and shrubbery. 
• Ability to repair irrigation lines and equipment. 
• Ability to operate mowers, tractors, and other related equipment. 
• Ability to understand manuals, directives, instructions and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited high school or GED. 
• Must have a driver’s license and driving record suitable for insurability.
• Willing to work non-standard hours, overtime and weekends as required. 
• Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position (walking, climbing, stooping, and bending).
