City of Alexander City

Solid Waste Management Plan

 

The City of Alexander City has updated its Solid Waste Management Plan in accordance with Code of Alabama Section 22-27-47. The Solid Waste Management Plan provides for the anticipated solid waste needs of Alexander City for the next ten years. The plan includes the summary and estimation of generation, collection, disposal, recycling, etc. of solid waste generated in Alexander City.

 

A public comment period will commence on November 1, 2023 and will extend through the close of business on December 1, 2023. A Public Hearing will be held at the regular Alexander City Council Meeting on December 11, 2023, at the Alexander City Municipal Complex in the Council Chambers on the 1st floor.  Any interested persons may attend and comment at the meeting.

 

A copy of the plan may be reviewed at the City of Alexander City, Department of Public Works at 281 James D. Nabors Drive, Alexander City, Alabama, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All comments will be reviewed and a written response will be prepared for each. The plan will be submitted to the Alexander City Council for approval at the end of the comment period. The plan and any revisions resulting from public comments, including the responses to the written comments, will be approved by the Alexander City Council in a public forum.
